About Me
Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. I'm a singer, songwriter and community musician.I believe that singing belongs to everyone and is a fundamental community building activity. My mission is to make it as joyful and accessible to as many people as possible.
I specialise in running harmony singing groups and workshops in the community, in mental health settings, in prisons and in schools. I provide one-to-one singing lessons for individuals wanting to learn more and take their singing to the next level.
I perform original material using voice and loop pedal under the name Kaninchen, sing in the brilliantly fun Yellow Goose Dance Band, and sing in a touring band with mega Prince nerds Prince Tribute Endorphinmachine.
Training
I hold a Music Performance BMus(Hons) from the University of Huddersfield and an MA in Community Music from the University of York.I attended Natural Voice Practitioners Network singer leaders training with Frankie Armstrong in 2009, attended Rhiannon's 'Mele A Hakuwale' followed by year long improvisation course 'All The Way In' in 2019. I have completed Vocal Process' 'Singing Teacher Training' and the SOVT Singing Technique course by Oren Boder. I am a Vocal Health First Aider with Vocal Health Education. I am also a Mental Health First Aider.

Ramshackle Fantasy Orchestra
Ramshackle is run by myself, Rob Crisp, and Alicia Johnson. It's a beautiful community orchestra made up of whatever instruments people bring, along with a fun loving choir. So far we have taken on Radiohead, Annie Lennox and the Beatles amongst others. We wanted this space to be fun, challenging and to work towards gigs that are community spirited.
